Christian Elias Tohmé
Christian Elias Tohmé holds a Master of Advanced Studies in Nonprofit Management & Law from the Center for Philanthropy Studies in Basel.
He began his career in the banking sector in Zurich and Paris before moving into the humanitarian field, where he established and led the Swiss Red Cross’s Institutional Philanthropy desk as Deputy Head of Division and Key Account Manager in Bern.
He later joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva, spending more than a decade driving and expanding global partnerships with philanthropic actors, private sector entities, and intermediaries—contributing significantly to the organization’s long-term private income and strategic positioning. Subsequently, he served as Senior Advisor at Philanthropy Advisors in Geneva before being appointed Director Switzerland at FOUR PAWS in Zurich. He now pursues freelance advisory work.
A Swiss-Lebanese national fluent in four languages, he has a strong interest in culture, world events, and the role of philanthropy in shaping societal change.
